Empowering Uneducated Young Girls and Women in Brick Kiln Communities
Society for Human Development is working hard to bring visible change in the lives of women through rights-based and development initiatives. SHD is striving for a society where women do not feel insecure, and where they have a liberty and freedom of expression and can develop themselves without any social and economic obstacles. Society for Human Development started sewing centre in different target areas of Distt. Toba Tek Singh. Young girls and women showed their interest and they got admission in sewing centre. They feel like they have value as individual women and they are contributing to the income of their families.
This project aims to empower uneducated girls and women in brick kiln communities through basic education, sewing and stitching training, life skills, and awareness sessions. These skills will improve their confidence, knowledge, and income opportunities. By investing in women and girls, the project will help strengthen families and contribute to the social and economic development of the community. Women are so excited and so thankful to Society for Human Development for giving them an opportunity to learn and play an important role in their families.
Success Story of Shazia
Location: Bonnieabad
Shazia is a resident of Bonnieabad and a mother of four children. She joined the Sewing Centre with the hope of
learning a new skill and improving her family’s future. Before joining the centre, she had limited opportunities to earn an income or develop her skills.
During the sewing training, Shazia learned cutting, stitching, and different sewing techniques. She showed great interest and dedication throughout the course and successfully completed her training. The skills she gained have increased her confidence and helped her become more independent.
After completing the course, Shazia is now able to sew clothes for her children and hopes to use her skills to support her family through home-based sewing work. She shared that the training has brought a positive change in her life and made her feel more confident.
