Society for Human development is a non-government, not-for-profit and nonsectarian, non-partisan organization working for social development of vulnerable and less developed people. SHD was established in 1984 by a group of young and energetic people who were highly motivated and committed for contributing their time, skills and energies for the development and empowerment of socially disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in Pakistan and addressing poverty issues and gender-based discriminations. The organization is registered under “The Societies Act 1860 of Government of Pakistan as on (1996). Registration number is “RP/5553/L/S/05/385.
We are committed to creating a more equal, peaceful, and sustainable society by empowering vulnerable communities and protecting the rights of every individual. Through our dedicated efforts in education, healthcare, women empowerment, child protection, livelihood support, and human rights advocacy, we work to bring lasting positive change where it is needed most.

Society for Human development is a Non-Governmental Organization striving for poverty alleviation and promotion of rights in its area of operation- district Toba Tek Singh. The organization was formed in the year 1984 by Group of activists of the district with diverse backgrounds. (Layers, writers, poets, etc) Initially we embarked upon our work by organizing The small Group of literary people and started work to promote peace and harmony among the people SHD Developed groups at District, Tehsil and village level to create the harmony among the people. On the other side SHD started work for future planning and started work for the empowerment of the land less farmers and with the help of Government they provide land to the landless farmers. Organized action by farmers brought to end the discriminatory practices in issuance. The activities were organized by the SHD whereas relevant expenses were collectively borne by the farmers. We endeavor to work for betterment of the conditions of the poor on a larger scale.
